SRHR Issues in Epworth community
Today there was a stakeholder's meeting organised by Plan Zimbabwe and Dialogue on Shelter Trust. The meeting's agenda is the one i put on the title, and I along with other SAYWHAT organisation activists were in attendance. The Victim Friendly section of the Zimbabwe Republic Police was in attendance. They were able to inform us of how they were helping young people in the community through offering youth friendly service. Their office is far from the police station, at a health complex. Yhis arrangement which is a confidence booster and allows young people to go report their issues without fear of prejudice. Mrs Tawengwa, the VFU officer present at the office gave statistics of young girls who were reporting rape and sexual exploitation cases. The numbers are not pleasing. She applauded that young boys were also gaining confidence to report cases as well.
